005 Domino Necklace

The day after the last post I found some old dominoes, got some help using a drill and voila! I want to find other random items to drill and make necklaces with now. I was thinking poker chips, but they are plastic, and if I try to drill it, there's a chance it may melt.

004 House of Harlow Inspiration

For the past few months I have been so in love with this necklace from Nicole Richie's House of Harlow collection. I have not found anything comparable to it and am not willing to dish out the money to buy this necklace.

And I don't know what happened today, or what triggered my inspiration. But I want to make a vintage style necklace similar to this but using dominoes! I am so excited! I just need to buy/find dominoes and then a drill so that I can string the pieces onto a chain. Maybe my dad has a drill...

I'm so excited for this!

003 Haircuts and eye makeups

(March 2010) This was the first ever hair design I did! Loved it so much, but it lasted just under two weeks because my hair started to grow out. I have a youtube video with more pictures of this cut! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgTJnVes3y4
(March 2010) This was the second ever hair design I got done, my friend did it for me. I was in a hurry and took the picture really quick and this is the best I got. If you look closely you will see that it is a treble clef and five little staff lines.

(June 2010) This is the third and most likely last time I shaved my head. I did it myself! My shaved head hair was growing long and it was annoying me, so I managed to shave it and clean it up and also added two lines because I seem to think I'm cool.

And this is my first eye look I am ever posting! I just did them this weekend using Beauty From the Earth mineral eye shadows. Notice that the third eye is just the second but with thick winged eyeliner. I'm trying to get used to winging my liner hence why I did these looks, it's hard because I'm not a huge fan of winged eyeliners. I don't think I have ever worn winged eyeliner in public.

I need to update my blog more often. And make more videos. I hate my camera though, kodak easy share, doesn't focus at all, ugh.

002 "The second hand beats out of time"

Yay! I'm waiting for my computer to publish my video, and then I have to upload and wait and I will have completed two hair tutorial videos! Finally. I fully spent an hour just figuring out song choices and editing the clips, and I thought video editing was difficult enough. Windows Movie Maker is a very limited program, I hope to find something better. I realize that making a video takes more time than I thought. Preparing to film, filming, editing, perfecting. I would say perfecting is always the rate determining step. I'm not easily pleased by my work, it's not that I have high standards, just that I want to excel at the level I think I'm capable of. If only that applied to other aspects of my life.

So since I'm super novice at all this I'm not involved in any makeup/hair/beauty type communities although I follow several. I guess I'm shy.

I'm thinking of posting makeup photos on my blog to share and get critiqued. I'm fairly new at doing makeup so I need feedback. Also my camera is pretty low quality so trying to do makeup videos would seem worthless. I guess picture tutorials is always a choice. But since my passion is hairstyling I'll stick with that for now.

001 There's a first time for everything

My first public blog, whee. I don't know what to do or what to say... this is awkward. Well, I guess I'm finally doing this after so many times of me chickening out, I have this problem, I hate doing things if they're not perfect. So posting this will be a bitch because I won't want to unless the spelling and grammar is perfect, which is a problem because my English skills are very elementary. Blogging is embarrassing. But it's okay because it's not like you can see me blush. Okay so that's enough irrelevant rant for now.

The real reason behind this blog is to keep up with my youtube channel DubiousDetour. My goal is to start making makeup/hairstyle videos. An apology ahead of time because these videos will be super novice when I start so hopefully that'll change over time to them being just plain super XD. Call me a mouse but I'm sure you'll get used to all this cheese.

I'm going to go examine all these settings now.
